New Canaan High School Football is one of the most storied programs in the Northeast. It started back in 1928 and the first game was played at Mead Park. Soon after, a stadium was built at Saxe Middle School called Stanley P. Mead Field, and in 1998 the very first game played under the lights at James Dunning Jr. Field @ Hawes Plaza.
The rich tradition of New Canaan Football continues to grow every fall.
Every player past and present had a part in making the program such a special experience for young men growing up in this great community.
FANS OF THE RAMS
In 2016 New Canaan Rams football announced a new initiative designed to keep our football family involved in the program year round. A newly formed non-profit organization, Fans of the Rams, currently supports the Rams football program to preserve and perpetuate the traditions of New Canaan football in conjunction with the NC Rams Football Association.
The name, Fans of the Rams, comes from the first football booster club from years ago. The current organization operates in a similar way, integrating current players, parents, alums and youth families at events, games, and shared information for our entire football community. Fans of the Rams works with the coaching staff and athletic administration to identify and support the needs of the current program while also uniting our Ram football family at events and online throughout the year.
NC RAM FOOTBALL ASSOCIATION GOLF OUTING
Each year the NC Ram Football Association hosts a golf outing to support coaches’ salaries and collegiate scholarships for our graduating Rams. The event includes a great day of golf followed by drinks, dinner and fantastic live and silent auction opportunities.
The 2017 outing is scheduled for July 24th at Woodway Country Club. A terrific day to reconnect with alumni, meet current Ram families and coaches, all while supporting our program!
